I was looking at an article indicating that the 10th Anniversary Women in Business awards have been announced for the North Bay. The 10 women were from very diverse backgrounds. I remember when I started as a new claims adjuster 22 years ago. When I was introduced to the staff at my new office, the comment was, "Wow, a woman adjuster!" There are quite a few women in the insurance industry these days. Each minority has its own struggles. It is heartening to see women succeeding.
When you have a claim, would it be your preference to deal with a man or a woman adjuster, or does it matter?
What matters to me is that I deal with a person that behaves in a professional manner - with respect, kindness, and competence. I want to know they are there to help me, and to make sure I understand how my policy works. I don't think it's about gender - it's about ability.
Now, If my agent/broker is Jan Loewen, I would know I have the right coverage, and everything will be fine! :o)
